COST $13,600,000
ARCHITECT Team Haas Architects
The first sustainable school built by the Austin Independent School District and the first collaboration between the City of Austin and AISD was completed in September of 2001. The project exhibits innovation in the use of insulated tilt-wall construction and sustainable design philosophies. The school's triangular library has a variable arched roof structure that serves as aesthetic component.
"The choice of tilt-wall came from the thrust toward sustainability and simplicity of construction.."

Heather McKinney, AIA, Texas Architect, 3/4 2002
