Trustee Hall, St. Edward's University |

| LOCATION
Austin, Texas AREA 50,000 sf COST $6,000,000 ARCHITECT Andersson Wise Architects |

| Cast-in-place concrete is exposed selectively as an architectural finish throughout the building, complementing the soft ochre-colored brick of the St. Edward's University campus. A south-facing architectural concrete feature wall with cantilevered concrete stairs and a molded, arched entry way provides the building's central focus and organization, while shielding its inhabitants from the brutal Texas sun. | |||||||||||

"The
cast-in-place concrete is massed and manipulated to assert its essential,
ancient, permanent properties. The arch ... reduces the material to a decorative
motif, both mannerist and referential." Elizabeth Danze, AIA, Texas Architect, 1/2 2004 |
